TERRA
Latin for EARTH- Get on a bike and ride your planet
TERRA CYCLERY
was established in 1997 by the Orlando family
SAVERIO
ORLANDO- The family patriarch- his claim
to cycling fame was evading Nazis on his balloon tired one speed clunker in his
native Italy during WorldWar II. Doubt any modern racing champion say the same.
Cycling to him and all European peers of his age means
one thing Transportation. Transportation first, all else second. It was about
how to get from point A to point B in a war ravaged country. It was basic
transportation to get to work and run errands. To him, a bike is an essential
tool. A point that needs to be heeded in these modern times.
Saverio is a first class welder and fabricator, having
once worked in for Mercedes Benz in Argentina. He can still determine the
structural integrity of a frame by eye inspection and feel of the metal.
Although no longer able to perform service, he can
still charm one will old world charm and wit. A true European, he is fluent in
Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Saverio Orlando- Buenos Aires, Argentina, early 1950s
FELIX A. ORLANDO-
Returned to cycling after too many soccer injuries. Having biked as far north as
Maine and as far south as his Native Argentina. From the shores of the
Patagonian coast all the way up to 8500 feet above sea level in the Andean
Mountains.
An experienced and certified mechanic capable of fixing
just about anything on two wheels.
His philosophy towards cycling is simple, mirroring
that of the patriarch. A bike is not a toy. The price of fuel today reminds
everyone that the bike was first designed as transportation. Can the bike be for
fun and exercise, absolutely! Can it be a collectible or even viewed as a piece
of art, sure. Do one errand a week on a bike, if we all did that imagine how
much less fuel we would use, how much better we would all feel.
Fluent in English and Spanish, working knowledge of
Italian and Portuguese.
